Portrait for Brass Quintet - a short piece written originally in 2015, then revised and adapted in 2025. It begins with the main theme stated in the tuba, punctuated by lush chords from the rest of the brass. The piece then moves into a more militaristic Allegro section, before giving way to a pleasant hymn-like section which particularly features the lower brass and horn. The piece concludes with something of a race to the finish, a frenetic adaptation of the original theme with the more adventurous harmonies adding to the nervous energy.
